Vetted Partner – Empowering Girls Worldwide

Girls Hope Rescue Mission

About the Organization

Girls Hope Rescue Mission is a non-profit dedicated to rescuing, protecting, and empowering girls affected by gender-based violence—particularly in Kenya. Led by Gladwell Wachira, a survivor-turned-advocate, the organization has rescued hundreds of girls aged 4–17, offering education, healthcare, legal support, and healing in a safe environment. Currently, over 200 girls are cared for on campus, with plans underway to expand and serve many more.

What We Do

Rescue & Shelter:

Partnering with local entities to remove girls from abusive and exploitative situations—including those involving child marriage, FGM, or trafficking—and offering them a safe haven.

Education & Empowerment:

The Bright Spark Academy provides primary education (K‑9) in a nurturing environment. Additional programs include vocational training for boys and men to foster cultural transformation, scholarships, college access, and early childhood development.

Healthcare Access:

Through the Joseph Smith Hospital, girls (and their babies, where applicable) receive essential medical care—addressing needs like FGM recovery, maternal health, and rehabilitation.

Why It Matters

In Kenya, harmful cultural practices such as child marriage and FGM continue to threaten the safety and futures of young girls. Girls Hope Rescue Mission doesn’t just offer immediate safety; it equips girls to reclaim their lives through education, mentorship, healing, and advocacy. Their vision is a world free from gender‑based violence—a dream we actively support.
