Help Start Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to bridging the digital divide by empowering underserved students with the technology they need to succeed in online learning and break the cycle of poverty. By providing refurbished laptops to students enrolled in accredited programs worldwide, Help Start enables learners to connect, grow, and transform their futures through education.
Help Start began with a simple belief that education is not a privilege but a fundamental right. Founded in 2020, this organization emerged from a heartfelt desire to remove barriers to learning by addressing a critical need—access to computers. With a vision rooted in opportunity and dignity, Help Start has grown steadily through meaningful partnerships and the generous support of donors who share a passion for global education equity.
Since our inception, we have blessed 40,000 students with refurbished laptops. We operate in 18 African countries and the Philippines and have served and are
serving 38 missions through our Returning Missionary Pilot program.
Partnership is at the heart of what we do. We’re proud to work closely with organizations like BYU-Pathway Worldwide that share our deep-seated belief in the transformative power of education for all.

Help Start measures impact in lives changed and potential unleashed:
Access to education is linked to technology; and students in underdeveloped regions face barriers without reliable devices. Help Start aims to empower students with the necessary tools, fostering lasting opportunities, strengthening families and building resilient communities.
Together, Breadgivers and Help Start share a commitment to dignity through empowerment. By focusing on sustainable educational access, this partnership seeks to widen the circle of opportunity for students who have historically been left behind. Together we invest in futures that produce confidence, capability and community impact.
Make a tax-deductible contribution that directly equips a student for success.
Organizations and individuals who share the vision of global educational access are welcome to collaborate.
Every voice advocating for equitable learning expands impact and invites others to join.
“I want to thank you greatly for the support you have given me and my fellow students in receiving laptops. We received them just in time for the next semester, and this has also motivated others to join BYU-PathwayConnect classes. Thank you again and God bless you.”
